Valentino and Graziano interview

Here it is on type of Valentino Rossi that we cannot very often see, without leathers and helmet but elegant and serious.

Italia 1 invited Valentino Rossi and his father Graziano and made a play, Valentino playing reporter's role and his father answering the questions, which, obviously were related to Valentino's currently situation.

Valentino: How do you see this difficult moment?

Graziano: Given some certain assumptions it will come out in the end.

V: What given assumptions?

G: The bike is a Ducati, this is no way how to question that. The rider, Valentino which, in my opinion is in his best shape ever. With a little bit of fortune the problems will be solved out around mid-season or maybe earlier.

V: How come that results are not coming?

G: Because first of all the bike is all new. The bike is equal to all others that he ran so far, 3,4 or 5 motorcycles which in the end he managed to sort them out and worked, I cannot see it otherwise than same situation especially here where all the Ducati guys are incredible.

V: What should Ducati do to make this bike more easy to drive?

G: An easier to control engine and the mass distribution that must make this over steering disappear.

V: Wanna' tell something special to Filippo Preziosi?

G: All my compliments and respect towards Filippo for this engine which is a real blaster. I want to tell him that today is more important to control the bike rather than the absolute performance.

V: Do you have an advice for Valentino?

G: Today he needs more grit than he ever needed until this day. It needs and absolute conviction and an ultimate commitment. Even the things are not working well at some point and he will be close to giving up, I tell him, this is not the right moment to give up.

V: SO, how do you respond to all those that say Valentino has no longer the will to ride nor motivation because of getting old?

G: There will always be certain persons that will stay close to Valentino also in bitter times like in good times as well and there will always be some others that will be vice versa. You cannot tell a thing to these kind of people, the only way is to answer them on track.

V: How come that the Ducati-Valentino pair didn't win so far?

G: This bike was a bet for all Ducati Corse department, if it was a winning one it would have been awesome. Unfortunately nobody could win and if it was for a win, for sure that rider would have been Valentino.

V: In this case, isn't it better for Valentino to leave Ducati?

G: Valentino cannot give up this project at this point. This is a challenge that Valentino for sure must win together with Ducati.

V: What do You think about this acquisition that Audi made? Could be a positive thing for Valentino's future with Ducati in Moto GP?

G: Yes, for sure it's a positive thing and if it won't be this year, in 2013 for sure they will get more into it.

V: So, ho to get out of this situation?

G: It needs a little bit more patience

V: How do you response to all those fans that want to see again the all time duel with Biaggi in Superbike?

G: Superbike is a project that Valentino is watching with lot of interest and after another 3 or for years in Moto GP it is possible to jump on to a Superbike
