Monza is coming and Carlos Checa states that a 5th place will feel like a win.
It is well known that Monza wasn't ever a Ducati track due the V-twin engine conception, maybe this will change with 1199 and hopefully we will see finally a Ducati performing also in top speed, this weekend the Super STK 1000 race will finally prove if Panigale cured or not this all time Ducati issue.
Last year Carlos had the most difficult race here. He qualified behind the first 10 riders and managed just a 9th and 10th place in the race.
As last year, same statement, the spaniard trying to limit loss and it won't be easy at all regarding the extra 6 kg Ducati gained after 2010 championship winning.
“We know that Monza will probably be the hardest round on the calendar for us and the Ducati, something we have also seen in the last two seasons.
We will do our best to take as many points as possible but realize that this weekend will be mainly about containing the damage.
Two top ten finishes would be good, and closing inside the top five would feel like a win for us here!”
